Mumford & Sons announce North American tour dates (+ second Terminal 5 show)

A few of us here at Paper Trail love Mumford & Sons. I’ve somehow missed every show they’ve played here, but the London foursome is coming back to the States again in the fall, so this may be my chance…

Mumford & Sons will be playing a pretty comprehensive tour of the US with a few stops up north in Canada. Due to the Terminal 5 show on November 15 selling out so quickly, they’ve added one further date to the end of the tour. The band will now be playing there on November 16 as well – that show goes on sale on Friday (August 20). Anyone planning to head to the Chicago show should also note that the venue has been upgraded from the Vic Theatre to the Riviera Theatre.

Back to the band though… Last time they were here Mumford & Sons played two nights at Webster Hall (check out someone’s video of their ultra catchy song ‘The Cave’ from one of the gigs below) and by most accounts seem to put on a great show.

The band’s debut album ‘Sigh No More’ is likewise a worthy listen , with its folk-influenced songs that simultaneously manage to be full of fun melodies comprised of horns and banjos while still maintaining some lyrical depth (like the scathing criticism on ‘Little Lion Man’ and ‘Dustbowl Dance’).
