You can believe what you want, but Poolside’s breezy, feel-good single “Do You Believe?” emits far too much heat to merely bump it in the winter months. The feverishly funky bass, percussion and synths on the record evoke summer fun. As luck would have it: The duo hails from LA. Poolside will release the single, “Do You Believe?” on March 14 via the Sidney label Future Classic—but here’s the music video for the song in the meantime.

Contrary to its title, Mogwai’s new video for their single, “How to be a Werewolf” might teach you how to be everything but a werewolf. Surprising? Hardly. The song is set alongside the backdrop of Antony Crook’s short film, 30 Century Man. The film documents the journey of round-the-world, record-breaking champion cyclist James Bowthorpe, who in the video, circles the Norwegian countryside with an ease and resilience akin to that of the song’s triumphant guitar riffs.
“How to be a Werewolf” will feature on Mogwai’s upcoming album, Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will, which is expected to be released on February 15, 2011 via Sub Pop Records.

Directed by Gareth Phillips, Is Tropical’s “South Pacific” video, features an uncoventional group of friends who go from the shore to the sea on a make-shift raft (talk about trouble at sea). Needless to say, the journey is anything but smooth sailing, though the band’s calming (and sometimes ghostly) electronic, rock sounds is poised for leading the way. “South Pacific” is available on November 22, and is the first single off of the three-piece London band’s debut out early 2011 via the Kitsune label.

A rather creepy new video from electro duo Crystal Castles. Alice Glass jumps and gyrates while lip syncing. Ethan Kath dons a freakish Japanese Mask.
Get yo’ freak on CC.

In a sort of video within a video, a group of clean and pants-less children, led by a particularly short and stern looking boy, enter into an unknown world full of animations and indistinguishable creatures. So it is with much of the Mew catalogue, the Danish four-piece allows the listener glimpses into their dream world, and what a view it is. Continue reading »
